Tommy Katona & Texas Flood | Club 66 | 11/07/2015

Tommy Katona & Texas Flood

Tommy Katona & Texas Flood
Tour -
Venue - Club 66 Edgewood, MD | 11/07/2015
Attendance - Myself | George Rose Jr. | Uncle Vince

The first thing I'll say is WOW! What a great night!
Texas Flood has become one of the premier blues bands in all of North Texas. Evolving from the original tribute to Stevie Ray Vaughan, Texas Flood pays tribute to the legends as well as the future of the blues through their own music and style. With an in-your-face show and raw high energy playing Tommy Katona takes the listener on a journey through the blues.
Met up with George and his Uncle Vince. Everyone is in a good relaxed mood. We chat and cheers to the start of a fun evening. We are all ready for some great music and a good time. They guy's in Texas Flood are the nicest most down to earth people you will meet. They Jam! Put your seat belt on. Do not pass up a chance to see Texas Flood!
They are a Stevie Ray Vaughan cover band and cover a lot of different artists blues. Stevie Ray Vaughan, Blues, Led Zeppelin, what a treat. All the SRV classics are played with the greatest details, a Led Zeppelin medley rocks the middle of the show. The band even works their way into the crowd mere feet away from us while jamming. Quitting time is usually at 11pm, however the band didn't seem to notice the time. Dave Rode got up and grabs the clock off the wall and sets the clock back to 10:30, The band continues on till midnight! Good crowd, not large but well behaved. After the show its time for photos and chatting with the band. All in all a great evening at Maryland's best venue!

KIX | Tally Ho Theater | 10/02/2015

KIX
Tour - Rock Your Face Off
Venue - Tally Ho Theater, Leesburg, VA | 10/02/2015
Attendance - Myself | Rob Lang

Was browsing the KIX fans Facebook group and a woman, Christy Boggs, was giving her Friday night tickets away. KIX Fans are the greatest! We worked the details to get the tickets and my longtime good friend, Jim Brown helped me get this done. Jim is a true friend he will do whatever he has to do to help a friend. He did, but getting the tickets for me and even meeting me on the route to the theater so I wouldn't loose travel time. You are the best brother!
With Jim's help, Rob ad I made it to the Leesburg Public House for dinner on schedule. We enjoyed chatting and a nice dinner. After dinner , slightly behind schedule we headed to the theater about a mile and a half away. What a neat little theater snuggled in the middle of downtown Leesburg. Parking right next door, the hour trip was worth it even in the horrid weather, as it rained the entire night.
A more open venue. The sound was some of the best I've heard at a KIX show.
The opening bad had just gone off, and the first KIX song, Mean Miss Adventure was starting as we entered the theater.
The crowd, well behaved and not extremely large was dispersed around the theater giving amble room for everyone that attended.
A great sounding show and over all a fun evening. I would attend another concert at the Tally Ho theater.
On exit from show, I noticed a flyer taped to the inner cafe window. I told Rob to stand by and I'd be right back. I walked back into the theater and grabbed the flyer from the window.
The trip home wasn't as bad as the travel to the event as the time was late.

KIX
Tour - Rock Your Face Off
Venue - Rams Head Live | 09/26/2015
Attendance - Myself | Rob Lang

Typical KIX show. Supposedly we were set for a KIX fan group photo after the show, However never saw anyone in the area that we were supposed to meet.
So much for a public group photo. maybe we'll get everyone in a group photo at some point.

Motley Crue | All Bad Things Must Come To An End | Royal Farms Arena | 8/26/2015

Motley Crue
Tour - All Bad Things Must Come To An End
Venue - Royal Farms Arena, Baltimore, MD | 08/26/2015
Attendance - Myself | Rob Lang

My first Crue show. I couldn't let them pass through without seeing them.
Wow, what a show, and Vince actually sounded better than i hoped he woud.
Fire, explosions, Tommy Lee on the Crucifix coaster sled.
The crowd, I guess older than I expected, but I guess I am almost 50 myself.
We were at the back of the arena to the left of the stage. We could feel the heat from the explosives and fire bursts. A fairly good set, lots from Dr Feelgood. Wish they ad stepped back a little further.
A good show from the bad boys of rock.
Now the crowd? What is wrong with the American concert crowds!? Unenthusiastic, sitting, probably falling asleep. This to me is disappointing.

Crack the Sky | Club 66 | 08/21/2015

Crack the Sky
Venue - Club 66 | 11/28/2014
Attendance - Myself | Rob Lang | Trish Ruberg

Another fun night a a small intimate venue.
John Palumbo is still out, but the band stepped up and they did a great job.
What a fun night at Club 66. Had to work on Friday as well as the others. We got a late start, which somewhat bothered me, but when we arrived at 7:30 the venue wasn't crowded, and never really became crowded, I was a little surprised. No where near last Novembers crowd. We enter and stake our spot right outside the kitchen. The show starts shortly. A good show , we stay around till the band breaks down the equipment. Taking with people and photo ops. I meet and hang with the owner of the cu, Dave rode, and get my picture snapped with Crack the Sky's lead guitarist Rick Witkowski.
Yes I probably had a bit too much to drink, however we still had a good time, at least I did. Rob transports us to Steak and Shake for midnight eats. More drinking but with food.
All in all a fun night. I will have to add this - I am so sick and tired of my friends who can't handle their alcohol. The other night they dropped me 3 times while carrying me to the car.
